BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This stops thieves adding keys or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system since it requires a valid PIN code to start the engine.

The Ghost is unique to other immobilisers as it doesn't rely on key-fobs or LED indicators. It uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to access to a unique disarming sequence that you only know.

Stop & Start

If you've ever driven a brand new BMW or utilized the stop start feature, you may have noticed that after stopping the engine will still continue to run for around 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to watch the vehicle for signals that comes from the ignition key. When it detects this the vehicle will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost immobiliser prevents this from happening by stopping the car every time you push a button sequence.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a new generation device, doesn't require you to cut OEM wires or install keys or alarms that are made by an aftermarket company. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network, and is programmed with a unique PIN code that is accessible via buttons in your car. This lets you enter a specific key push sequence that isn't in the normal menus for media, like volume up/down, cruise control, source or turning on air conditioning and stops your car from starting until this is entered. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 digits, so it is extremely difficult for thieves to guess or crack.

We can also include the ability to use a service/valet feature. This is activated while your vehicle is being maintained so that the ghost immobiliser tracker is hidden from the garage. You can activate this by pressing the service button 5 times on your infotainment device (the system will flash in confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically re-arm when you return.

Ghost immobilisers are highly recommended for top-of-the-line automobiles. It is totally undetectable, does not require the cutting of the original factory wires and is able to shut down your car's engine if an incorrect pin code is entered. Service Mode / Valet Mode

The Ghost is a top-of-the-line immobiliser that is designed to protect your vehicle from being stolen by key cloning and hacking. It uses the factory buttons on your vehicle to create an individual push sequence that only you can identify. This is similar to the pin code security of your mobile phone. It's incredibly discreet and quiet and dissuading even the most determined thieves from ever trying!

If you're at home and in the event of a meet and greet the Ghost can be switched into service mode. This allows you to start the car with your keys normally, but stops the engine from running until the correct code is entered. This is great for customers who must give their vehicles to valet services, or trusted family members or friends. It also lets you take the car to the garage for maintenance or repairs without having to worry about it being taken away or altered by a mechanic whilst you wait.

Once the service / valet mode is activated, it will block your BMW from being able to drive once started, this prevents anyone from attempting to test drive it whilst you are away. When you return, it will return to normal stopping your vehicle from being tampered with or stolen again.

The Ghost can be fitted to any BMW. All you require are the correct keys since the device doesn't use the original remotes, but can be used with them. Anti-Hijack

With hi-tech thieves becoming more advanced, the security technology has to improve, which is why Ghost has developed this discreet and discreet immobiliser. It is designed to prevent thieves from putting in an ignition key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive off. Ghost connects to your CAN network and uses buttons on your vehicle to create a unique push-sequence that must be entered before your engine can be started.

When the anti-hijacking feature is activated, any attempt to restart the engine will be blocked. Once the system detects that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, if it fails to identify the correct code it will also stop the engine (where possible). By entering your push sequence or entering service mode, you can disable the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to temporarily start without having to enter PIN.

If you have a GPS device connected to your BMW and you want to use it to disable the Anti-Hijack function so that you can continue to use your navigation system while the vehicle is stationary. If you have a smart-phone you can also hook it up to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack function and other functions.

Remote Control

We can connect the Ghost device to your mobile application to allow remote control of keyless start and go capabilities. This is helpful if you need to be somewhere in another location and valet or mechanic need to start your car. The system allows you to turn the car on, select drive and quit service mode without needing keys. You can also track your vehicle's location on the map in real-time using your smartphone.

The Ghost can be fitted under the dashboard or in the centre console, it is completely secure and untouchable and does not require additional wiring. The device is connected to the CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a personal pin code is programmed into it. This pin code must be chosen before the vehicle is started. This stops thieves from gaining access to the system by using the cloned or replaced ECU.

If the vehicle is stolen in any way, the Ghost will go into a service mode and disables all functions unless the PIN code is entered or you utilize the mobile app to dearm it. This feature was developed to protect your vehicle from high-tech thieves who employ relay boxes to steal it. It also stops thieves from being able to use their mobile phones to activate your sat nav or MP3 player to track your car!

Ghost also can stop the 'Relay Style Frequency Amplifier'. This is the most frequent method of stealing a car with a keyfob that's been cloned, or stolen through hacking. Ghost can help you prevent this theft by installing a device known as Secure-A Key in your vehicle. The device is installed inside the key-fob of your vehicle and shuts off its battery after a few inactive minutes. This can be done with the majority of modern PKE keys.
