Nordstrom's flagship store in New York City will host an in-store marketplace featuring eight Black-owned businesses from February 14 to March 6. The market is curated and includes clothing, food and home goods from Caribbean lifestyle-inspired Chen Burkett New York, soulful clothing brand Savant Studios, heavy metal jewelry brand Heavy Metals NYC, Modish Decor Pillows and Brooklyn Brewed Sorrel.

Anima Iris

If you are seeking a chic modern and contemporary tote that appeals to your fashionista spirit, Anima Iris is the brand for you. The luxury brand of purses is helmed by Wilglory Tanjong, an all-time MBA student who founded the company in the year 2020.

The bags are made in Dakar, Senegal. Each bag is named after a family member or a friend, like Anima and Iris Wilglory's childhood besties.

While a majority of luxury brands are focused on promoting their European heritage, Anima Iris centers African tradition and history in its designs. In addition to their fashionable bags, the company contributes a portion of their profits to charities that help women of color.
