Seriously, most of the noise is traveling along the wall of the pipe. Block it and it bounces back up the pipe to the engine. Dunno if a 2.5" exhaust alone would really be that much quieter. You need more mufflers, either larger ones to replace what you have, or additional glasspacks/resonators.
