Bagless WiFi-Connected Robot Vacuum

This bagless self-cleaning robots wifi-connected robot has a minimalist, black design. Its price is comparable to other high-end smart robotic vacuums.

You can control it using the physical Clean and Dock buttons at the top, via the SharkClean app or with voice commands via Alexa and Google Assistant. It has a range of smart features, including home mapping and virtual no-go zones.

Matrix Clean

The most popular vacuum cleaner in America (based on NPD Group/Retail tracking Service data). Matrix Clean has incredible suction power and Matrix & Precision Mapping. It also features an automatic emptying bottom.

It's easy to connect the Matrix to your WiFi and begin mapping out your rooms with the SharkClean app that you can download on your smartphone. The app lets you set up an agenda to keep your home spotless or you can choose certain rooms to have Matrix begin cleaning the room automatically. You can also create 'no go zones, such as beds or closets that you don't want it to get into.

The app also allows you to utilize the "spot" cleaning on demand feature. You can choose a spot that is dirty on your floor map, and the robot will traverse the area by repeatedly swiping its cleaning pad. It is able to take everything away, from dog hair tumbleweeds and tiny pieces of paper that were left from an upcoming craft project.

When the Matrix finishes it's cleaning job it will return to its dock and empty itself into the included bin. This is an interesting feature because it reduces the amount of hand-on maintenance you have to perform.

This robot's LIDAR mapping sensor is located just above. This could hinder it from being able to reach under furniture with low levels like tables and sofas. If you're not worried about being a bit higher than other models it's an excellent option. Also, keep in mind that this model doesn't come with an HEPA filter like some of the other models on this list.

Precision Home Mapping

Shark's Matrix Clean Navigation uses a precision grid to leave no space unnoticed and its incredible suction draws dirt and debris into a self-emptying 60-day capacity bagless auto-vacuums base. Precision home mapping combines 360deg LiDAR vision with an exact home map that is available in the SharkClean application to allow completely autonomous movement and intelligent object avoidance. At night or day, it generates a precise map of your area to allow for full movement without hitting furniture and other obstacles. This means that your robot will be left to complete a cleaning schedule or you can trigger Matrix clean whenever you want and set room-specific targets anywhere within the app.

Powerful Suction

The RV2502AE is an excellent mid-range robot cleaner that checks all the boxes. It's user-friendly and produces precise home maps, and has an empty bag that self-empties. It's also cheaper to run than other robot vacuums.

It is loaded with power. It makes use of its side brushes to push carpet fibers and hair into the brushroll. This helps prevent the build-up and clogging of the brushroll that is seen on other robotic vacuums and makes this one more effective at picking up pet hair.

This robot features a powerful suction that self-empties the base and a high-efficiency HEPA filtering system that traps 99% allergens and dust mites. It also has two power modes that can be used to suit different kinds of floors, and a remote that allows you to access all its functions. It's also compatible with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant which means you can begin a cleaning task without touching the robot.

It's a great option for homes with a lot of space, but its navigation capabilities could be a challenge for certain. In contrast to other bump bots that can avoid stairs, this one had difficulty with stairs. It relied on LiDAR and infrared sensors to map the home, but it kept mistaking my cat's house for stairs and demanded that I move it out of the way. Additionally, it only ran for 180 minutes before it ran out of power, which was less than the advertised time.

The only downside is that the docking station's vacuum system that is used to empty the onboard dust bin is surprisingly loud.

When the robot is plugged in and charging, it will emit an audible beep and a green light at its top will flash to indicate that it's ready to begin cleaning. When the battery of the robot is low it will dock itself to its base and stop working until it's recharged. It is important that the dock, also known as Self-Empty Base, is positioned so it doesn't get hindered by furniture or other objects and is free of any obstructions.

Although this model is a little pricier than the other mid-range robotic mops we've tried, it's well-built and has better performance on plain floors and has a longer battery life, less demanding maintenance requirements, and a greater range of automation features, including virtual boundary markers. The iRobot Roomba i7 is still our top pick, because it feels more refined and durable, charges faster, and is able to be caught on rug tassels fewer often. It also has a higher capacity battery.

Easy Setup

The Shark AI Ultra comes with a simple-to-use Schedule that takes only a few inputs. You can select the date and time of sunrise and sunset as well as the duration of the ramp time (increasing or decreasing the brightness) and if you want to switch on the lights at night.

It does not include smart mapping or voice control like Alexa and Google Assistant but it has an extremely useful, free programming suite.
