It also has a camera that can snap the Roomba back to the real world when it starts to drift from its actual location.

iRobot has also included the option of rolling rollers under the Roomba that don't have bristles, and best robot mopping machine are therefore more likely to resist the tangles that previous models. They are also taller and can be tucked under low couches or beds. They're specifically designed to make this model more movable on various kinds of floors.

What makes the Roomba 980 stand out from other models with a higher-end price tag, though, is its integration of the new dirt detection feature that utilizes cameras to detect bits of embedded dirt. This is a significant improvement over the previous version that relied on the sensor-driven pseudorandom cover method to bounce around a room and clean at minimum three times from various angles.

The Roomba 980 performed well in our tests on carpets and hard floors. It scored extremely well on low-pile carpet and also on mid-pile. It did a good job of removing pet hair, but it was struggling with very thick and long pet fur that was clumped together.

The Roomba 980 is still one of the best robot mop vacuum combo performing robots in our list despite the slight limitations. It's also less expensive than other top-of the-line models. It's got plenty of features that we'd like to find in a flagship model however it lacks all the fancy apps or smart home integration are found in other top contenders.

The iRobot Roomba is simple to set up and start working immediately. After taking the yellow bin insert and the battery pull tab from its undercarriage it is simply connected to an outlet on the wall or to its Home Base docking stations, hit the "Clean button" and let it work. It will automatically return to the dock when it runs out of battery or is full of trash. There are also indicators on top that indicate when the bin is empty, or when it requires recharging, or when it loses its Wi-Fi.
