Buying a Pram Newborn

Prams and pushchairs are the multi-functional, multi-purpose allies of parents and caregivers. They're the co-pilots in the new adventure of your child.

A pram newborn is a dedicated stroller for infants and newborns. It comes with a solid, deep carrycot that is soft, safe walls.

A pram will typically come with a bassinet. However, it can be converted into a stroller seat once baby is ready.

Safety

Newborns must be protected as much as possible. A stroller or pram equipped with safety features will ensure that your baby is secure and comfortable while traveling. A stroller compact or pram must have a working break and a 5-point harness (2 shoulder straps and two waist straps and a crotch belt) and a wrist tether for the person driving it. Check that the pram you choose meets these standards.

Find a pram that allows your baby to travel in the recommended lying-flat position. This position helps your baby and helps prevent the risk of a dangerous curvature in their spine which could lead to problems with their spine. It also lowers the chance of SUID (Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Syndrome) or asphyxiation by keeping airways open. Most prams can be used from the moment of the time of birth. They come with seats that recline into a lay-flat position for infants. It can also be converted into a pushchair unit for older children.

The suspension of the pram will determine how smoothly it rides. A pram that has many spring suspensions will cost more however it is worth the extra cost in the event that you plan to use your pram every for a while or more.

Always make sure to read the instruction manual thoroughly and examine the warning labels for your stroller or pram. You should also make sure that your stroller is placed in a safe location away from bicycles, traffic or any other dangers when it isn't being used. If you're in the market for an appropriate travel system, be sure to check the frame's compatibility with your car capsule and this will prevent you having to wake them up every time you're changing between pram, car and back.

Convenience

When you are shopping for a new baby's pram, it is crucial to think about your baby's needs for transport. Make sure that your baby's pram has a sturdy base with wheels that are able to handle potholes and bumps. Also, make sure you can fold it down easily and make sure the safety harness you use is safe, fits comfortably and securely (five-point rather than three-point) and can be adjusted as your child grows. You should be able store bags for changing and shopping beneath the pram (but keep in mind that too much weight could cause it to tip over).
